Let’s Talk Mental Health & The Struggle
Can we talk about mental health, for a second? What’s so scary about admitting all facets of ourselves? Can we normalize the conversation about our strengths, AND our challenges?
Usually, I do really well. I haven’t had a setback like this in about 10 years. Honestly, I thought a struggle like this was a thing of the past. Well, apparently a pandemic is where my brain draws the line.
The idea that there’s the invisible deadly threat around any corner, is unsettling, to say the least. The isolation and loneliness are like nothing I’ve ever experienced before. I’m an introvert/homebody, in a lot of ways, but even I want to go outside without fear of death (literally…).
To anyone talking about the struggle right now, from the bottom of my heart, thank you. Thank you for helping raise awareness, so people (like me) can start to feel less alone. Less inadequate. And, less ashamed.
There’s a pandemic. Of course, people are struggling. Of course, these are challenging times. It’s ok to feel however you’re feeling. There are no “bad” feelings, just “uncomfortable” feelings.
You are not alone! ❤️
